Our Story & The Founder
IO Home was founded by Deryck Teng, a hospitality strategist and property turnaround consultant with a deep understanding of Southeast Asia’s evolving travel landscape. With over a decade of experience managing hotels, resorts, and homestays across Malaysia — including prestigious names like Philea Resort & Spa Melaka and Merchant Hotel Penang — Deryck saw a gap in the market for beautifully designed, customer-focused staycation properties that could serve as both accommodations and experience hubs.

Driven by a belief that memorable hospitality lies in the details, he began handpicking locations surrounded by nature and transforming them into stunning getaways that guests would not just visit, but remember. Today, Deryck leads a vibrant team of creatives, marketers, and guest experience managers who share a passion for experiential travel.
