Meet Kim

I’m Kim, a WordPress web designer, passionate about working with solo, service-based business owners like you.

After the birth of my daughter, I began to realise that the world wasn’t the warm place of equal opportunity that I’d always believed it to be.

In my corporate career, I found out that my male peers were being paid more than me, even though I was just as experienced and as capable as they were. After maternity leave, I was given even less responsibility and fewer opportunities to work on new projects. I was feeling very unhappy and I started a blog, with the purpose of honing my coding skills, in order to get another job.

However, the more time I spent in the blogging community, the more I realised that there was a real need for respectful tech help for bloggers. I saw a lot of parenting bloggers struggling with their websites and email lists and when they paid for help, they were often talked down to.

So, I decided that rather than looking for a new job, I would start a tech virtual assistant business. I quickly pivoted from tech VA to web designer, as this is where my real passion lies. I can get lost for hours in designing, building, tweaking and optimising websites. The process of creating something new from nothing, gives me huge satisfaction.

In 2019 my business went from side-hustle to full-time business (as full-time as you can be while juggling young children) and I haven’t looked back since.

My aim as a web designer and all-round techy person, is to make your life easier.

I’m here to take on those tech tasks that you don’t have the skill, time or confidence to do, so that you can focus on running your business.

As a web designer and former software engineer, with over 10 years of experience working in the software industry, I have the knowledge and skills to help you with the tech side of your business. Whether that’s building a brand-new website to help attract new clients, looking after the site you’ve got, building an email funnel, or helping you to implement changes yourself, I can support you.

I know that for a lot of people, tech can feel frustrating and even scary at times, especially if you don’t feel confident with tech and computers.

With that in mind, we’ll start with a call, where I will ask you about your business and the problem(s) you’re having. I’ll then recommend the service that I think solves the problems that you’ve described to me.

I will keep jargon to a minimum, will always take the time to answer you and there’s no such thing as a daft question. I want you to feel comfortable and supported with every interaction that you have with me.

After the initial call, I’ll send a follow up email with a summary of everything I’ve talked about during the call, including the specifics of the service I’ve recommended, details of payment plans, timescales and anything else that we’ve talked about.

I offer a range of options, including ‘done for you’ and ‘done with you’ services, to help you with your website or email list.
